SPCC 263/4 in 29.1 overs (Baseer 89, Amit 63, Miten 52) beat CCCC 259/8 in 30 overs (Omar 55, Harpeet 45, Ashok 39, Siddarth 3wkts)

SPCC registered an emphatic 6 wickets win over CCCC. Eighty runs partnership between Amit(63) and Anish(24) set them up for the chase of 260 runs in 30 overs, before brutal half-century from Miten(52 in 15 balls) and a master class innings from Baseer(89) helped SPCC to reach the target in style. Earlier in the CCCC innings, SPCC pace bowlers led by Sid (3 wickets) knocked the CCCC top order down, but CCCC recovered well to post a challenging total, thanks to fine batting from bottom half of line up, led by Omar(55) and Harpeet(45).

CCCC captain Waseem won the toss and elected to bat. SPCC bowlers Kalyan and Miten operated well with new ball. Kalyan was accurate with his left-armers where Miten was challenging the batsmen with his well directed deliveries. SPCC made an early breakthrough when Jinal was run out by some fine work from Subashis and Kalyan. Sid came in for the bowling change and he was immediately got into the actions. Rizwan and Muzzafar came in and left with out troubling the scoreboard. Both were out bowled by fine deliveries from Sid. He produced another beauty to claim the important break through where Yash had no answer other than offering an edge for a simple catch to Shibraz who accepted it gladly. Omar and Harpeet(44) started the repair work for CCCC and they managed to build a strong partnership. Some dropped catches from fielding side helped the cause. Finally Subashis able to break through the defiance of Omar to produce mistimed shot into waiting hands of Miten. Ashok and Waseem made some quick runs for CCCC. Jagi, Shibraz and Miten claimed 1 wicket each to put some break to CCCC innings and they were well supported by Baseer, Shibraz and Sid by some good catching and awesome work behind the wickets from Sid. CCCC innings was completed at 259 for 8 wickets.

SPCC started the chase with Amit and Sid. Sid hit a nice boundary before he got out by offering a straight catch to Ashok. Anish joined Amit in the middle. Amit dominated the stand with Anish, and was able to put away all the bowlers with some ease, with sixes and some perfectly-placed drives and pulls for fours off the seamers. Both batsmen were able to rotate the strike well and were building a healthy partnership. Anish finally got out, bowled by Yash. Baseer joined Amit in the middle and both continued momentum up. Soon, Amit completed the well deserved the half century. On the other end Baseer was warming up for yet another master class innings. Both took the score over the 150 mark with ease. Against the run of play, Amit got out by offering an easy catch to the keeper on the bowling of Ashok. That brought PJ to the middle, but his stay at the crease was curtailed short when he was declared run out after he fell over because of a collision with the bowler who came across the way. Miten was sent in to with support Baseer on the middle. After playing few balls for singles and doubles, he started his fireworks which were a great treat for the crowd who joined on the side lines. Baseer too joined the party and registered another half century in the SPCC batting card. With help of seven hits for the maximum, Miten scored his maiden half century for SPCC in just 15 balls! Baseer completed the chase in style with massive six to present an impressive victory.
