SPCC vs TGCC, League Game #9, Tanglewood Park
Heart breaking lost against TGCC.
Deepak Bhat

August 02, 2009

SPCC 154 for 10 in 33.4 overs (Baseer 51, Bivinder 3 wkts) lost to TGCC 155 for 9 in 33.3 overs (Mayuresh 34, Subashis 3 wkts) by 1 wicket.

Player of the match: Baseer Ahmed

A rainy and wet day…SPCC was on its way to Tangle wood to play cricket…SPCC lost the toss and was put into bat…

SPCC did not have a good start when they quickly lost 3 wickets…It was now left to the trio of Baseer, Muzzafer and Ashwath…After the unfortunate run out of Muzzafer, Baseer still kept on building the innings with Ashwath…Ashwath on the other hand gave a wonderful support to Baseer…Baseer completed a well deserved half century…Praveen hit some fine shots too…

SPCC ended their innings at 154 runs in 33.4 overs

SPCC bowling also did not start on a good note when the opening bowlers were hit for 30 runs in the first 4 overs…It took the brilliance of Baseer, Subhashish and Praveen to restore some stability to SPCC bowling…they kept on taking wickets at regular intervals and kept SPCC in the game…The game went well into the last over with one wicket left and 3 runs to be scored…But it was not be SPCCs day and they lost a thriller of a game…Mayuresh played a gem of an inning for TGCC

TGCC chased the total in 34.2 overs…

It was a tough loss but kudos to SPCC that they kept on fighting….It was a great batting effort by Baseer, Ashwath and Praveen and a very good bowling effort by Praveen, Subhashish and Baseer…Fielding was good too….
