SPCC 265 for 5 in 35 overs (Pramod 136*, Praveen 36*, Baseer 31, Rajesh 23) lost to WCC 266 for 8 in 34 overs (Sanju 89, Ronak 84, Subashis 3 wkts) by 2 wickets.

Can lightning strike twice…apparently it can…After a heart breaking loss last week SPCC took on WCC on a hot and humid day….SPCC won the toss and elected to bat…
SPCC batsman started cautiously with both Anish and Rajesh preserving their wickets…Both of them played well to see the new ball off…Anish hit some good shots but was soon out….After the loss of Rajesh’s wicket Muzzafer and Pramod tries to start a partnership…But alas Muzzi was soon runout to a suspect decision…Baseer went in and started knocking the ball around…Pramod meanwhile continued to play cautiously…
Baseer fell to a good catch by the wicket keeper…Venkat too was out soon…In went Praveen and there in started a long partnership between Pramod and Praveen…Pramod went berserk in the last 6 overs and completed a fine century…This was a first century for SPCC…Praveen also was not to left behind and hit some maximums for a well made 36…
SPCC finished with a good competitive score of 265 in 35 overs
SPCC bowling started with a dazzling caught and bowled by Deepak in his first over…Things went a little downhill for SPCC after that…Part of the reason was some fine batting by Sanju…He took all the bowlers to task by hitting some fine sixes…Muzzafer nearly had him before he had even hit 50 but alas it was not to be so…
After the break SPCC started taking some wickets but the WCC batsmen kept on pushing…Another lifeline given to Ronak of a dropped catch was the final blow to SPCC and WCC achieved their target in 34 overs…
It was another heartbreaking loss for SPCC after last weeks loss…It was fielding failures again that led to the downfall...But we must still try to finish our season head held up high…Come on guys we can do it…It has been a long time since we have gone to Buffalo wild wings to celebrate…let us do it in both of the coming matches…
Quote of the week
