Player of the match: Praveen Namburu

It was sunny and humid day to play the game of cricket. The opposition arrived a little late and even the umpires. SPCC lost the toss and the game was underway as MCC decided to bat.

MCC innings
Kalyan and Tarun opened the bowling spell for us. MCC started cautiously with Wasif and Rizwan both were playing were very sensible cricket and not taking any risks with the new ball. Tarun got the first breakthrough as he clean bowled Rizwan with a beautiful delivery. Wasif on the other end was dispatching every short ball to the fence. He completed his 50 in no time and was looking dangerous.

MCC reached 100 in just 12 overs and for the loss of 2 wickets. The dangerous man Wasif was still at the crease. Praveen was introduced 13th over and he kept our hopes alive by getting Wasif out. It was a very well judged catch by Kalyan. Soon after this MCC wickets were falling at regular interval and they ended heir innings by making 219 runs in 35 overs. Praveen took 5 wickets and bowled superbly. He bowled his heart out and displayed a lot of dedication.

SPCC innings
SPCC batting was opened by Swapan and Yasir. They both started cautiously taking time to settle down and get set. But soon Swapan was out LBW. Aditya was the next batsman in. But after hitting some boundaries he too lost his wicket playing a poor shot on the leg side and was caught at Mid wicket. As we lost 2 quick wickets, Kalyan was sent to play an anchor role. Kalyan and Yasir steadied our innings. We were around 30+ run for the loss of 2 wickets at the end of 10 overs. Qaisar and Walton bowled exceptionally well.

Kalyan got out in 17th over as he was adjudged run out..(poor umpiring decision) He did his job for the team by making 21 runs in which he hit 2 sixes. Mani was the new man in but he was soon was adjudged LBW. Baseer came next to replace Mani..He played a few shots but soon perished playing a poor stroke and was bowled.  Yasir on the other end was playing with so much patience that he was not prepared to give up and was fighting alone to win this game. Enter Tarun, both of them played for some time and it looked like they were developing a good partnership when Yasir got out for 42. Soon after Yasir dismissal SPCC collapsed and only managed to make 128 in 27 overs.
